I served in 1969 with the 11th Combat Aviation Brigade which was part of the 1st Aviation Brigade. Welcome home to all who served. I just thought I would share a slide show with you all. I play in a mariachi band and one of the Mexican players wrote a song about Don Rogelio ( my name in the group. It was quite flattering to have someone do this and when we had finished, I added some of my photos and created a slide show. The result, according to all the people who have seen it, was that it was quite moving. If you type in A Canadian Vietnam Veteran Tribute The Ballad of Don Rogelio into YouTube you should be able to see it. I would love to see your comments. We were all so young and will be brithers and sisters forever.

Admin reply: Thank you Roger and Welcome Home! Your tribute video on YouTube is awesome! We will keep in touch.

I was so proud to see your Org. today on Sanadian Rememberance Day being a part of 11/11 events. This is Canada, I exspected the Legions to have shown you some respect. History doesn't put most in good light, but to see people act so dumb to the facts that US citizens came to canada to enlist during both 1st & 2nd war. This is NA we must stand together. Bless you CVVA. I look forword to meeting you all in Winnipeg

Admin reply: Thank you David for signing our guestbook and for the good wishes. The CVVA annually attend the Remembrance Day Service at the Convention Center and we also display our travelling Memorial Wall.

Greetings from the members of the Victorian Vietnam Veterans Branch, Melbourne Australia.

We honour your service, courage and committment. Our two countries share a common bond of service and loyalty as members of the commonwealth and inour own independent actions. Our brothers in arms have stood side by side in the great wars and in mayny struggles that followed. As brothers in arms, we stand beside you, proud of your Vietnam service and proud of what you have achieved since then.

Admin reply: Hello Bob and all fellow members of the VVAA. We are indeed brothers and shared identical situations upon returning home
in our struggles for recognition and benefits. I personally never had the pleasure of serving alongside any of the Australian units in Vietnam
but I know you were very well respected and revered by all those who did. We salute you Brothers

Hello Veterans!

My name is Chadwick Wheeler and I am a fifth year history student at Wilfrid Laurier University. I want to start off by thanking all veterans for the service you have done for your country, people, and families. There is no group of individuals I respect more than you.
The reason I am contacting the Canadian Vietnam Veterans Association is to make a special request. As a history student I have always been intrigued by the Canadian history and the Vietnam War. Last year I wrote a paper about Canadas roles during this conflict. Part of my paper discussed Canadians who fought in the Vietnam War by crossing the border and joining the United States military. As I enter my last year as an undergraduate student I want to rewrite this paper with more focus on Canadian veterans. It is for this reason that I am reaching out to the CVVA community. I would like to contact and get to know any veteran who is comfortable becoming part of this important research. I want to preserve your stories and acknowledge your experiences within history. All participation would be voluntary and nobody is obliged to discuss any topics you may be uncomfortable with. Any questions I ask will be first approved by the WLU Ethics Committee to ensure they are by no means offensive. In addition, confidentiality will be maintained throughout the process so personal information will not be given to anybody besides myself. I hope that my research will bring more light upon Canadian Vietnam Veterans so that Canadians and the world can acknowledge the tremendous service you have done.

If you wish to participate or have questions and comments about my research please do not hesitate to contact me via email. I will respond as promptly as I can.

I thank you in advance for your consideration,
With much respect,

Chadwick Wheeler

Admin reply: Thank you Chadwick for signing our guestbook and for offering us the opportunity in helping you out with your project. If any members wish to participate, they will reach you at the contact information you left us.

Hello to all Vietnam Veterans, this is one Canadian that appreciates everything you Guys/Gals did for all of our freedoms. Thank you for you service.
We here at the Friends of Veterans Canada (Reg. charity), are dedicated to gathering all veterans stories of war in order to pass our veterans stories onto Canadian students, so they have a place to see and hear the stories from the horses mouth per say, on video tape.
The reason I am contacting your Association is one of an inquiry. I live in London On and I would like to gather additional stories from our Vietnam Veterans for the Harry Watts Veterans Video Library. I can do interviews for the Library most anytime in my area. In addition I will be traveling across Canada this year on my Harley to BC, NFLD, Toronto and Calgary for the Stampede. So if there is anyone that is a Veteran or knows of a Vietnam veteran out there, who may be willing, to share their story, please contact us at randy@friendsofveterans.ca.
Also I interviewed a Vietnam veteran in Regina at the legion in 2009 and he was from Swift Currant Sask. We would like contact him again but unfortunately, we had our van broken into while we were in Regina and the thief stole our camera and the tapes of his interview along with other veterans stories we had gathered on that leg of the tour. He drove into Regina to be interviewed and we would like to touch base with him again to re-due his interview. He was a member of a Vietnam veterans organization and he was an executive within his group and may have been the president. Can anyone help us find this veteran?
Thank you all again and there is many Canadians that want to know your stories.
Friends of Veterans Canada
Randy Young Pres.

Admin reply: Thank you Randy for your great post. I'm sure you'll be hearing from our executives and members soon.
